Recycling Starts With Precycling

I have to admit as much as I recycle today, there was a time when I didn't even bother. It seemed to time consuming, and I wasn't aware of the benefits. IBMers proclaim to save millions of dollars through recycling and reusing energy. By precycling, we can conserve the Earth's finite resources. There are many more reasons why we should recycle. Years ago without realizing it I was precycling. I would refill my water bottles and throw them back into the fridge. Now I washout and reuse bottle and plastic containers until they need to be recycled. Ever get tired of the junk mail? Instead of throwing away those unopened coupons, ask to be taken off the mailing lists for good. Also keep cloth towels around the kitchen. I still use paper towels, but not to dry my hands and wipe up water. Plastic and paper shopping bags can be reused for groceries and other things. I take my mom food in reused grocery bags. I will list ways to precycle in coming blogs. Send me an email if you know some ways to help us to precycle. Let's be creative and try to reuse something today that we would not normally use again.
